My planting schedule for the spring garden was thrown off track because of our continued cold spells. I had planned on my tomatoes being much further along and almost finished by the time my sweet potato slips arrived. It was a perfect plan to keep veggies moving along!
That plan went even further off the track when the sweet potatoes arrived last Friday. I had not expected them until the middle of this month. So, the sweet potatoes were planted in mounded rows among the three tomato plants and the single row of cucumbers. It's a cozy, compact garden. The tomatoes should bear fruit and burn up with the summer heat long before the potatoes are ready to dig up. Enjoy some pictures from our newly planted taters and blossoms from the maters.
