Cool as a Cucumber!

Cucumber vines growing tall!

It's the end of September and fall officially began about a a week ago, but you would never know it here in Florida. The 90 degree days have been hanging tough and keeping my pumpkins from pollinating. After waiting patiently for all the girl flowers to show up, they finally came and keep coming. The girls, however, don't like the heat and have been dropping off the vines!

Good news is on the way this week for our pumpkin gals with the forecast finally calling for cooler nights and days that stay in the lower 80's. Maybe, just maybe we can get a pumpkin pollinated!!

On the other side of the garden the cucumbers continue their amazing growth with tall vines and lots of baby cucumbers popping out all over! Unlike the pumpkins, it looks like some of our cukes are getting pollinated and starting to plump up!!
