My Birthday!

October has always been one of my favorite months of the year. I like it more now living in Florida because there's a sense of change and a feeling of moving beyond the long hot summer and headed for a nice Florida winter. I think it's also a favorite because Julie and I celebrate our birthdays this month. Today was my birthday and I've been lucky enough to have a nice three day weekend. Julie cooked up a fantastic new country pork rib crock pot dish that is now one of my all time favorite birthday meals. She worked hard at making my usual chocolate cake with chocolate icing and surprised me with a 2008 weather calendar. Tonight we will close the birthday celebration with a beer on the porch!

For those of you waiting with baited breath to finally see what the mystery picture was a blog ago (and some guessed correctly, kudos to you), the answer is finally here! Today I officially commissioned my new upgraded weather station. What you see is part of the anemometer (wind meter). Pictured below is the complete set up with rain gauge and all!!! Enjoy!
