Blueberries!

With the first day of spring finally here, it's time to reveal the big plans for our garden expansion project! Blueberry plants, southern high bush variety, have arrived and are ready to plant! I took an interest in trying to grow blueberries after seeing a blueberry farmer on TV trying to protect his crop during the big freeze we had this past winter. I did a little research for growing them in Florida and found varieties suited for southern climates.

I'll be learning as we go and hoping for the best! The plants came fairly small, but, hopefully with lots of good care we'll have nice blueberry bushes in a couple of years. They'll be spending this summer getting established so don't expect baskets full of the berries anytime soon!!
