Keepin' it Local

Living in the suburbs of a big southern city, we have plenty of big national chain places to shop and eat. And we have done a lot of dining out over the past few years, but, its getting old and there's only a few chain places we go to anymore. Most of the other places have lost our business with bad service and long waits (sorry Longhorn!). Some are just down right too expensive for what you get (sorry Cheesecake Factory!). Cracker Barrel and Maggianos remain on our favorites list along with Cheddars Casual Cafe.

Having grown up in rural America where hometown diners were easily found ( May's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), I began to long for that local flavor! This month, however, we finally discovered one of those really good local diners. Ben's Family Restaurant!! I'm not sure why it took us so long to go there. We've past it a million times, spent millions more that we should have at other places, but last night I decided we should try it. It was good, inexpensive and comfy!!! See Julie's blog for Olivia's experience! It's a place we will be back to (next time for breakfast!).

It's good to have found a place like this and even better to be supporting a local place!

We've been there a few times. Just make sure you remember to turn off your cell phone, lol.
