It was a pretty typical Wednesday night around the Nicewinter household. Olivia was to bed by 7, Julie was out with her knitting gang and I took my virtual Boeing 737 on an evening flight from Williamsport to Philadelphia. With a 55 knot tailwind I made great time cruising at 11,000 feet! Even had a nice touchdown on runway 27R at Philly!
With my flight complete, I got comfy on the couch and had my key lime pie slice from Red Lobster. I've noticed that seafood places seem to have the best key lime pie with Crabby Bills being the best and Red Lobster not far behind!
So, I'm all nice and relaxed when a house jarring thud rattled my very soul not once, but twice in row very quickly!! I jumped off the couch and went outside to see if the roof was still intact, checked the bedrooms to make sure Olivia was OK!! I found nothing, all was as it should be!
When Julie came home from knitting I told her about the house jarring thuds I had heard. She simply said, "it was the sonic boom". It was an a-ha moment for me because I had completely forgotten the space shuttle was landing last night. As the news reported later, the shuttle went over Tampa!!
