Happy Independence Day!

Happy Birthday America! That's what I told Olivia we had to say because our country turned 232 years old today. At 5 years old she didn't seemed too interested in the facts, just get her to the fireworks and she'll be happy. She likes to see the brilliant displays but did state today that she would be covering her ears. Loud booms she could do without.

Unlike last year when I celebrated the 4th by coming into work the evening shift at the airport and watching the displays all around town from the 9th level of our parking garage, I am enjoying a nice three day holiday weekend. It doesn't happen often with my schedule, but I'm thankful when it does.

With family and friends either to far away or celebrating with friends, we've had a pretty quiet holiday. A time to clean out the nasty stains in the back seat of Julie's Escape, a reminder of fruit punch spilled from last year's PA road trip.

We hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the summer holiday and Olivia will be looking forward to seeing pictures of Pap playing his drums at their local parade.
