Chillin'

It's not unusual to see temperatures in the 40's here, but, it is somewhat unusual to see them at the end of October. We woke up to 44 degrees this morning with a warm up to 65 expected this afternoon. We haven't seen this chilly weather since last winter. With upper 30s expected tonight, our blueberry bushes are getting a head start with their chilling hours!!

Around the rest of the garden, the beans are loving the weather and the lettuce is doing great in the seed starting trays. The first of the beans will be harvested this morning and on the dinner table this afternoon. Our corn crop has been less than hoped. A combination of fast attacking pest and a not so terrific variety has dimmed hopes for corn cookout this year. We'll try it again during the spring growing season.

Look for some of my great airplane pictures from runway 36L coming in the next post, in the meantime, enjoy pictures from the garden.
