Garden Blooms

After struggling through some strong summertime thunderstorms, the sunflowers have been blooming nicely. Although not quite as tall I as thought they would get, they still turned out pretty nice. I only have one flower that apparently forgot to grow a blossom as it stand tall and proud with no flower!

Sweet potatoes continue to look nice as their green and purple leaves take over the garden like I had planned for the summer time. They will hopefully flower in the next few weeks. Sweet potatoes are part of the morning glory family and have bloomed with light purple flowers in the past.
On another note, as our contribution to "going green" we will be debuting a brand new cordless rechargeable Black and Decker trimmer this week. No more mixing gas and oil around here and no more loud, noisy gas engines!

We'll let let you know how that goes! In the meantime, enjoy some pictures from the garden today!

Karen - Yes, if you are referrring to the trimmer, it is the same as my Dad's. I had been looking at that one when I asked my Dad what he had. He finalized my decision after he said how much he liked it.
