Record Melon, Home Grown Cotton Balls

The month of June is ending with a record breaking heavy duty watermelon harvest! Weighing in at a hefty 14.6 pounds is our 4th of July melon, the third one off the vine and it looks like there are more to come! The recent end of the month rains have the melon vines still producing flowers and melons.















Also just harvested from the garden, our red foliated cotton. The bolls have produced a white as snow cotton ball! A second cotton plant is growing nicely and should produce more cotton in a few weeks!
























Rounding out the garden harvest for the month is the heirloom grape tomato that just doesn't know how to stop growing, the reisentraube is going strong with blossoms and red ripe tomatoes!

Finally, the sweet potato vines are loving the heat and the rains and have started to spread out comfortably around the garden!
