Mid Summer Garden

The mid summer garden in Florida is much like the mid winter garden of the north, not much at all going on, too hot for most veggies except cotton and sweet potatoes. Its a good time to pile up the compost and start planning for the upcoming fall growing season.

This morning I was happily surprised by a blooming sweet potato vine. Sweet taters are part of the morning glory family and produce a similar flower.
