Over the last couple of weeks the garden has been transformed from a bed of sweet potato vines to freshly tilled soil with heaping amounts of compost.
This morning I planted a second hill of pumpkin seeds and a row of cucumbers. As mentioned before, I'm trying pumpkins for the first time. I've spaced out the plantings with the hope of having pumpkins close to Halloween and again when its Thanksgiving time. I'm growing a New England heirloom pumpkin called small sugar. In the picture above you can see the first pumpkin hill growing nicely in the bottom right hand corner of the garden.
